These days anyone can call themselves a Marine Surveyor and start a business. But remember, an experienced Marine Surveyor will provide you with important information about condition of your vessel and/or cargo at the time of inspection.

You have great benefit of having performed a marine survey. A well-conducted survey gives you important information on your vessel/cargo condition. We can develop a realistic and dependable indication of the condition, value and associated risks. Most companies like banks or insurance firms will require a survey from a particular age. They need this information to know the condition and fair market value in order to finance and/or underwrite the vessel/cargo. This information is also very useful for your purchase and safety.

In general we give a critical examination or inspection of your vessel/cargo for a specific purpose. Marine surveys are performed in and out of the water, at dockside or dry-dock. Below, different surveys are explained. On the following pages, you can find different items that can be inspected

• Condition and Evaluation.
  This is a report on the current condition of the vessel/cargo and its current value as judged by area and condition. Market value is fairly justified and determined to provide enough information for financing, estate settlements, legal cases...
• Pre-Purchase Surveys
  This inspection is strongly advised when purchasing a new or used vessel. Probably the most comprehensive of all surveys. For example it includes such items as structural integrity, sea trial, fuel system, navigation, electronics, and overall operation of the vessel.
• Damage, collision, pollution and fire
  This is performed to assess the extent of damage, recommended repairs, estimate repair cost and if requested, the probable cause.
• Trip Surveys
  This inspection may include an insurance underwriting inspection or may focus on details of specific voyage. Navigational equipment (electronic and traditional), safety equipment, crew resumes, itinerary,... Recommendations are made and details are reported which should satisfy your insurance carrier's requirements
